1921 (No Mint Mark) Philadelphia Peace Dollar Silver High Relief MS63 NGC Brown Label
The 1921 Peace Dollar was introduced in 1921 to commemorate the restoration of peace after World War I. As the first year issue/initial release of the series Peace Silver Dollars were struck in high relief which was subsequently deemed impractical for coinage and was modified in 1922 to a low or shallow relief. Peace dollars are 90% silver coins and were only minted by the Philadelphia mint in 1921 with no mint mark on the coin. The 90 percent silver translates to an approximate net weight of .77344 ounces of pure silver.
